With GFF targeted funds, Samfund was able to encourage applicants with Hodgkins Lymphoma to apply and expanded awards to them each year. Then with the onset of the COVID pandemic, GFF approached Samfund with the idea to launch a new Emergency Fund to help young survivors of all cancers remain in their homes. GFF provided the lead gift and continued support for a rapid response fund to help survivors with the additional financial burdens caused by the pandemic. With the uncertainty that our family experienced with Covid-19 and loss of jobs, the funding that was granted to us was more than a blessing that will never be forgotten. Thank you for making it possible for us to have holidays filled with peace of mind. Our children didn’t have to go without a Christmas this past year and did not have to go through severe hardship this past year thanks to your grant. We will be forever thankful!” ... I was so happy and in shock to receive the news from Michelle that I would be granted help for my car repairs and a computer. I was so honored and grateful for this opportunity that will help me worry less about the cost of repairs. I unfortunately haven't had the funds to do maintenance on my car since I received my transplant June 2016.

It was the much-anticipated physio calling us back with the results of his MRI scan. He was convinced that the knee pain he’d been suffering for several months was a meniscus tear.A few GP appointments, an x-ray which showed no abnormalities, a physio review, a few missed phone calls which Sam ignored as ‘no caller ID’ meant this much anticipated scan had been delayed. His pain got worse – shouting out in the night in pain, his knee began to visibly swell more and more and he was unable to walk.

Uncle Sam’s “Shadow Sovereign Wealth Fund” - Wealth Daily

Washington is building a “shadow sovereign wealth fund”. And the biggest profits are going to investors who buy before Uncle Sam makes his next move. Here’s how to cash in… For everyone else, it was a painful lesson in how fast the market can move once Uncle Sam declares his favorite. So what does this mean for investors going forward? It means the U.S. is quietly building what amounts to a shadow sovereign wealth fund. That was the story with MP Materials, and it will be the story again with whichever defense firms land on Uncle Sam’s shortlist. Lockheed Martin offers the unmatched stability of a prime contractor. Leonardo DRS offers nimbleness and upside potential in niche technologies. Leidos Holdings offers the brains of the operation, securing the information and cyber backbone of America’s defense. Together, they paint a picture of what Washington’s “shadow sovereign wealth fund” could look like. For investors, that means stability in a volatile world, with the potential for major upside if Uncle Sam decides to double down by buying a direct stake.Instead of oil money or trade surpluses fueling investments — as we see in Norway or the Middle East — this fund is being built on the back of strategic necessity.
